2021 Advent

Hey friends,

I decided that for this Christmas season I was going to write a blog post each day while following a Bible plan advent. I am going to be following the plan on the Bible app called "Advent: The Journey to Christmas". It is a 25-day walk through of God's detailed plan to save the world from sin and the promises that were fulfilled in the birth of Christ. Starting tomorrow (December 1st), I will be reading and following the advent, and I want to come on here talk a little about the devotional. Then, I want to share a little something from that day or something God has placed on my heart. I am also planning on doing a craft of some sort each day. I am also wanting to try to Vlog this advent season, so make sure you look for that on my YouTube channel! I am going to try to vlog each day, but we will see what happens in our day-to-day. I am slower at editing video, and so my videos struggle sometimes. 🥴

This should definitely be a fun month for me to post everyday, we have a LOT going on this season. Eliza's birthday is this week (the 3rd), and I have a lot that I need to do to get prepared for that. I will also be documenting that day majorly! I plan on having one of those large "2" birthday balloons, plus many other balloons when she wakes up. Matt's parents are planning on coming to Atlanta on the 3rd too. My best friend from Hattiesburg (Kaitlyn) is coming here on the 10th. Matt, Eliza, and I are planning on going to Hattiesburg and Mobile at some point during the holiday season. I know we are planning on being in Hattiesburg on the 24th and Mobile on the 25th, but I don't have any other dates than those. We don't plan on a 2-day trip only, so we will have to talk and figure out how long we are planning on being in town. Those are the only things, that I know 100%, that we have to do this year, but I also have to figure out making gifts for each of our friends and family members with less than $200 to spend.... Just in my family alone, there are 16 people not including Matt, Eliza, or myself... If you have any ideas please feel free to send them my way! I have a thought for my oldest sister and brother-in-law, but not for anyone else.

Right now though, it is 3:49 PM, and Eliza is still napping (she has not been sleeping well and apparently it caught up to her.) When she wakes up, we are going to make our own DIY Christmas advent calendar. I am still finalizing the details on that one, and I will post pictures of the plan and our final product! (Please do remember that Eliza will be helping me, so it won't look as good as I would probably prefer it to...) Our plan for tonight when Matt gets back is to FINALLY decorate for Christmas, make a (hopefully) quick Target run, make Christmas cookies, make hot chocolate, and depending on time maybe even watch a Christmas movie. Last night we tried to decorate but then ended up rearranging the whole living room for three hours instead...

It is now 4:30 and Eliza is still asleep... but I figured out the advent calendar that we are going to make and it is a mixture of two that I found on Pinterest! Now to wake her up and make the calendars! I am sure by now that you guys have realized I am a bit of a procrastinator... it is something that God is working on with me.. I usually get everything done, and done well, but for my mental health and the sanity of everyone else around me, I need to get better at doing things on time, and even early... 😅

So... It is now 1:21pm on Wednesday December 1st, and we actually got the advent calendar done this morning around 2am. Eliza decided she didn't want to sleep and wanted to scream instead... 🙃 She's not feeling well, and we're actually currently watching "Elsa 1" aka Frozen. The plan is still to do the advent calendar, Bible plan, and more today, but we will have to see how that goes... Last night we got through putting up the tree, putting lights on it, making the advent calendar, and hanging it. We didn't get to the ornaments on the tree, Christmas movies, hot chocolate, or anything else I had planned. Matt ended up going to the store for us and sadly, only got Christmas lights. If you can't tell, last night was ROUGH...

I am actually really happy how our advent calendar came out though!
