2021 Advent Day 10

Hey friends!

Once again, today is "Day 10". It is actually the 11th, but again, it's been a really rough 11 days of December so far.

Today was the first day that Kaitlyn was actually in town, and one of the things that she really wanted to do was go to the Georgia Aquarium. Due to finances on our end, she was going to have to go alone, but I talked to my mom and dad, and for Christmas, they actually gave me an annual pass to the aquarium! I was able to buy her ticket and Matt's ticket for 10% off! This is the second time that Matt, Eliza, and I have been to the aquarium, but the first time was in July of 2020. We had a blast and actually spent like 5 hours there! When we went the first time, Eliza was less than a year old, so it was a lot of fun for her to actually be able to experience the aquarium! If you haven't been, I personally 100% recommend the Dolphin and Sea Lion shows! They were both INCREDIBLE!

Somehow I forgot to take a picture of day 10's card, and now, we are in Hattiesburg away from the cards... Day 10 said to go look at Christmas lights though! We ended up going to Life University to a Christmas light thing they had going on! I didn't realize though, that it was $10 for the car. AND it was an outside walking thing... The whole thing kind of went down hill really quickly.. It was cold and none of us really wanted to get out of the car and walk. We were also all really hungry, because we hadn't had anything to eat except waffles before we went to the aquarium... Eliza had also just fallen asleep, since we were at the aquarium all day she had not napped, so waking her up and getting her out of the car was ROUGH... Then it was cold, and there wasn't a clear path, so we ended up only staying for a little bit and then going back to the apartment to make dinner.

Today's Bible advent was a devotional and Luke 1:34-37. The picture quote for today said, "God can do immeasurably more than you can imagine in the midst of your impossible. " After the angel told Mary she would conceive baby Jesus, she was confused and asked how that was even possible since she is a virgin. She had the typical response of questioning how something that seems impossible could be possible. Even when we're in a beautiful season like Christmas, it can be difficult to see how God is working in our impossible situations. Think about how the births of Jesus and John the Baptist changed the course of history. God can do more than we can imagine even in the midst of situations that we see as impossible. Give whatever you are facing to God, and trust that He will be faithful to you. He never fails, and is a good and faithful Father that will protect and provide for you! I don't know about you, but that is some GOOD news for me, I am thankful and desperately needing someone to protect and provide for me in this season. We are STRUGGLING.

"Father, You are good! I praise You for Your power -- nothing can stand against You! Thank You for having a plan for my life, for sending Your Son on my behalf and for giving me the strength to face situations that seem impossible. As I trust in Your strength and not mine, help me see Christmas as a powerful example that nothing is impossible for You!" - Prayer

"Mary asked the angel, 'How can this be, since I have not been intimate with a man?' The angel replied to her: 'The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most Hish will overshadow you. Therefore, the holy One to be born will be called the Son of God. And consider your relative Elizabeth -- even she has conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month for her who was called childless. For nothing is impossible with God.'" - Luke 1:34-37
