Hey friends, I am starting this post MOMENTS after finishing Day 1. It's 1:54pm on December 2nd, and Matt is still at school and Eliza and I are watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! She LOVES Mickey Mouse! Her fever is gone, but she is still coughing.. I am about to give her some more cough medicine to help her feel better. We will open day two's advent card as soon as Matt gets here, today's activity is one of the only ones I still remember.. š š¤£

We are going to a parade in Cartersville (as long as she feels better by the time it starts...) I know absolutely nothing about it except for what the Facebook event says. I LOVE Christmas season, lights, and everything that goes along with Christmas time!
Well.. it's Monday December 6th at 3am... I clearly did not get finished with my post on the 2nd...
We did end up going to the parade, and it was the longest but also most random assortment of floats/vehicles I have ever seen. We got there late, because I apparently just struggle to get out of the door when we're supposed to, and then it was PACKED.. We probably shouldn't have even gone due to how Eliza was feeling, but we went anyways and then I kind of regretted it because I felt so bad that she felt bad... and it all was just rough...

We ended up leaving before the parade was even over due to how much she was coughing.. and when we got home we made food and I put Eliza to sleep. I was just going to put her to sleep and come back out in the living room and blow up her birthday balloons, but she REFUSED to sleep without me in there. She was also just having a hard time sleeping and ended up just hanging out with us longer, and we FaceTimed my sister. It ended up reaching midnight and we sang her "Happy Birthday" and gave her a present then she FINALLY went to sleep, but still wouldn't let me leave her side. It was a rough night, but God is still good and Eliza is feeling better now.
Today's advent Bible plan was a devotional and Isaiah 7:14.
The devotional was talking about how "Christmas is one of the most significant miracles in history." More than 680 years before the birth of Jesus, God told Isaiah about the birth, and that it would be God Himself in the flesh. There were 108 prophecies fulfilled through the birth and life of Jesus. Which is honestly crazy. Think about it for a second, 108 times something came true just because of Jesus! In 1958, a renowned mathematics and astronomy professor studied and calculated the chances of the fulfillment of EIGHT of the 108 and it was 1:100,000,000,000,000,000. That's for only eight of the miracles not the whole 108 that were actually fulfilled. There were so many odds stacked against Jesus, and He still was able to save us! Jesus coming to earth was statistically impossible, but still it happened. The only response we can have in that is worship fully in gratitude and total awe.
"Father, You are amazing. I can't even begin to understand how You wove the story of Jesus together before He was born. I am in awe of Your infinite power and wisdom. Thank you for the miracle of Your Son. Help me never lose sight of how great You are." - Prayer
"Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive, have a son, and name him Immanuel." - Isaiah 7:14
