Hey friends... lol it's Advent Day 3 and I am writing this on December 6th at 3:50am... So we had a bit of a MESS happen.. Eliza got pretty sick, so the last four days have been COMPLETELY taken up by taking care of her. She was screaming and angry all day. The saddest part is that this day was her birthday.. Matt's parents (Tutu and Poppy) came into town so that they could pick up Matt's old car and take it back to Hattiesburg. They actually ended up taking her swimming at the hotel they stayed in, and she had a blast. Then finally wiped out and got some sleep, she hadn't been sleeping at all, and that night was honestly even worse... Sorry, I am rambling... It's nice to talk to someone besides Eliza and Matt only..

I am NOT a homebody and I really love to get out and do things, but with sickness, that's clearly not an option... I love Eliza, but dang being stuck at home with a very grumpy Eliza is NOT how I like to spend ALL of my days, I get I am being a little dramatic. We're only on day like 3 or 4 of her being sick at this point but dang it's exhausting...

Anyways, back to the main point of this post, so today's card actually just said "Swim with Poppy and eat with Tutu" I had actually thought and planned to take her indoor swimming for her birthday about a month before her birthday. She LOVES swimming, and anytime she sees her swimsuit or anything like that she always talks about going swimming and absolutely loves it! When they told us they were coming into town and getting a hotel with an indoor pool, I was PUMPED! That's even less money I had to spend which at this point is desperately needed. I was REALLY sad though that Eliza was sick on her birthday, and the days before and after her birthday. I had so much planned, and none of it was able to happen.. I was planning on blowing up balloons for her the night before so she could wake up to tons of balloons, but she REFUSED sleep, so that didn't happen... then we had plans to go do some fun things that she loves (mainly swinging at the park) and that also didn't happen...

My only plus is that I am looking at taking her to do things, and have the balloons and birthday breakfast for her someday this week when "Aunt" Kaitlyn comes into town! She loves Kaitlyn, and will be pumped to have all the birthday stuff even if it isn't actually her birthday anymore! (Perks of only being 2 and not really knowing better!) I will say though, she keeps wanting us to sing Happy Birthday to her especially before we pray for dinner. It's the cutest thing!

Today's Bible plan was a devotional and multiple verses from Genesis, and a couple from Luke.

The picture quote today says, "Jesus was born because God redeemed a long-deferred hope." Jesus was born because God redeemed a long-deferred hope. In Genesis we read that Abraham and Sarah longed for a child, but Sarah was unable to conceive. When Sarah was 90 years old, God promised Abraham that Sarah would give birth to a son. He would also establish a covenant between Him and Abraham's descendants. They named their son Isaac which means laughter because God brought Sarah great joy and redemption through what appeared to be an impossible situation..

Isaac had Jacob, and Jacob had 12 sons. Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Dan Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Isacchar, Zebulun, Joseph, and Benjamin. Judah had King David and Mary (Jesus' mother) was a descendant of David. Sarah giving birth at 90 is yet another reason to be in awe of the story of Jesus' birth.

Just remember that God has redemption for the season you're in. He promises to bring a greater return than you can even imagine. You may not be able to see the purpose in everything you're doing right now, but you will.

WOW, WOW, WOW! I needed that. I don't know about you guys, but this has been a TOUGH season. I have been waiting on promises that have looked like they would never happen, but that devotional brought me so much hope for the future! I know that the devotional helped me out a LOT, and I really pray that it helps you just as much!

"Father, thank You for being a God of Your Word. Just like You fulfilled Your promise to Sarah, I trust that You will fulfill Your promises to me. Thank You in advance for using the difficult seasons of my life for a greater purpose. I am honored to be a part of the work that brings You glory." - Prayer

"But God said, "No. Your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will name him Isaac. I will confirm My covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his future offspring." - Genesis 17:19

"The Lord said, "I will certainly come back to you in about a year's time, and your wife Sarah will have a son!" Now Sarah was listening at the entrance of the tent behind him. Abraham and Sarah were old and get old in years. Sarah had passed the age of childbearing. So she laughed to herself: "After I have become shriveled up and my lord is old, will I have delight?" But the Lord asked Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh, saying. 'Can I really have a baby when I'm old?' Is anything impossible for the Lord? At the appointed time I will come back to you, and in about a year she will have a son." - Genesis 18:10-14

"The Lord came to Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for Sarah what He had promised. Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the appointed time God had told him. Abraham named his son who was born to him -- the one Sarah bore to him -- Isaac. When his son Isaac was eight days old, Abraham circumcised him, as God has commanded him. Abraham was 100 years old when his son Isaac was born to him. Sarah said, "God has made me laugh, and everyone who hears will laugh with me." She also said, "Who would have told Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne a son for him in his old age." - Genesis 21: 1-6

"As He began His ministry, Jesus was about 30 years old and was thought to be the son of Joseph, son of Heli, son of Matthat, son of Levi, son of Melchi, son of Jannai, son of Joseph," - Luke 3:23 & 24
