2021 Advent Day 6

Hey friends!

For day 6, we're only one day late just because I could type day 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 all in one day! It's December 7th at 2:42pm. Eliza is napping and I am writing and watching "American Dragon: Jake Long" It's been so long since I have watched this show, and I absolutely love it!

We actually opened Day 6's envelope on Day 6. For day 6, we were making paper snowflakes! They didn't turn out quite like I would like them to, but it was still fun to do with a toddler. My favorite thing about staying home with her right now is all of the fun things that we get to do together. I will be going back to work soon, and I am so sad that I won't have all of that time to spend with her to really be able to watch her grow and to teach her things that will help in life. I am thankful that I will still get to spend time with her, but I am sad that it won't be as much time and that she's going to have to spend time with someone else.

Today's Bible advent was a devotional and Psalms 72:1-14. The picture quote today said "Christmas marked the beginning of the legacy of eternity's greatest King." In Psalm, David prayed for his son Solomon, to become a great king for the nation of Israel. David dreamed about and prophesied the perfect King. That King would end up being Jesus. It was over 950 years before Jesus was actually born that David prophesied this! David prophesied, "The King would be known for His compassion and His rescue of the needy and distraught. He would defeat oppression and violence, and it would be obvious that His people would be precious to Him." David even declared, "All kings would bow down to Him and all nations would serve Him."

David saw that the compassion and care for God's people and the defeating of oppression were the signs of a perfect King. That King's moral judgement and selflessness would never be compromised. Christmas not only marks the moment the Savior came into the world, but also the beginning of the legacy of eternity's greatest King. Jesus has continued to reign after His death, and will continue to reign long after the kings and kingdoms of this world pass away. We get the chance to live under the covering of His perfect love for us!

We get a King who cares for us completely, and cares what we go through. He is a great King, and a great Father. He loves us whole-heartedly.

"Jesus, I honor You as the King of my life here on earth and throughout eternity! I can't wait to experience the purity of Your leadership as the brokenness of this world falls away. Thank You for coming to earth and beginning Your journey to the throne among us. I'm so grateful You care for me deeply and will always advocate for me as my King. I love You and submit myself to Your perfect ways." - Prayer

"God, give Your justice to the king and Your righteousness to the king’s son. He will judge Your people with righteousness and Your afflicted ones with justice. May the mountains bring prosperity to the people and the hills, righteousness. May he vindicate the afflicted among the people, help the poor, and crush the oppressor. May he continue while the sun endures and as long as the moon, throughout all generations. May he be like rain that falls on the cut grass, like spring showers that water the earth. May the righteous flourish in his days and prosperity abound until the moon is no more. May he rule from sea to sea and from the Euphrates to the ends of the earth. May desert tribes kneel before him and his enemies lick the dust. May the kings of Tarshish and the coasts and islands bring tribute, the kings of Sheba and Seba offer gifts. Let all kings bow down to him, all nations serve him. For he will rescue the poor who cry out and the afflicted who have no helper. He will have pity on the poor and helpless and save the lives of the poor. He will redeem them from oppression and violence, for their lives ares precious in his sight." - Psalms 71: 1-14
