2021 Advent Day 7

Hey friends!

It's the 8th at 2:28am, so I am still falling behind, but a lot less than I was before. As I am writing this the 3, 4, 5, and 6th still have not been posted. I am still waiting on Matt to proof read them for me. They're all written out though, so that's most impressive for me!

Todays advent said to have a picnic dinner in front of the Christmas tree! Which ended up being a MUCH harder task than I would have preferred. Eliza started throwing a fit to end the night and then refused to go to bed. It was DEFINITELY a rough mom night.. It made me question why I was even mom... It was bad screaming and crying (from both of us...) I am not super proud of how I responded to her at all.. Being a mom is rough sometimes, and it takes grace, love, and patience that I do not have and quite honestly neither does anyone else... except God. I know as a person, and especially a mother, I need to FULLY rely on God. We did finally end up getting to eat the BEST chicken and rice soup under the tree! (Thank you to my dad for the recipe!) Matt made it for us. (It wasn't quite my dad's but still delicious!)

Today's Bible advent was a devotional and Isaiah 9:6. The picture quote for today said, "When Jesus came to earth, He came to lead a broken world to a place where we could be made whole again." Through Isaiah, God revealed that a child would be born and be called the Prince of Peace. In Hebrews, those two terms mean a leader and completeness. He would be called the Leader of completeness. Jesus came to lead a broken world to a place of being whole. He came to fix the problems between us and God. The peace Jesus brought into the world at Christmas allows us to be content and rest in Him no matter what chaos surrounds us. Allow Jesus' peace to comfort you where you are, no matter what you're going through. You don't have to be finished with your struggle for Jesus to comfort you, He can do it right where you are.

I just want to let you guys know that I did this Bible advent AFTER writing the first part about how being a mom is TOUGH an I needed grace, love, and patience. I had no idea what was in this Bible devotional. It helps to show that God knows what we need before we need it. He's a good Father, and I really needed His peace tonight.

"Jesus, thank You for coming to bring me peace. I recognize today that I can rest in You, no matter what I'm going through. Whenever fear or heaviness threaten my peace, help me run to safety in You. Lead my spirit into the wholeness that is available in You." - Prayer

"For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace." - Isaiah 9:6
