Keep Your Cup Filled

Easter was last week, and while it was different than usual, God is still good and so was the day! The whole week before Easter was such a trying week for Eliza (my daughter) and I, and it has continued into this week for some of my other family members. I am extremely thankful for what these past two weeks have shown me though, and that's why I am typing this out, so I can share it with you as well!
First, I want to talk about Easter for just a second and let you know that God is good. He was good, He is good, and He will always be good. He sent His son to die for us on the cross! He also was raised from the dead three days later! He conquered sin, and He conquered death for us so that we could live now on Earth, but mainly later in heaven with Him! If you don't know that good news, or you want to learn more about that feel free to message me and I'll tell you all about how good our God is.
My main point for this post though is all about the week before Easter. Eliza had a cold and while sure there are much worse sicknesses in this life, especially now, for a one year old a cold is a difficult task to overcome. She was honestly really good throughout the week with her feeling as bad as she did. The days were easy but the nights were a completely different story. She had trouble breathing out of her nose, so she was having a hard time sleeping, and she didn't want to even try to go to sleep. There were times when she was awake until 2 and 3am just refusing to sleep. One night she actually refused sleep until the sun woke up and then decided to go to sleep. Since she was up, I also needed to be up, and I wasn't able to get the sleep and rest that I needed. Needless to say, I ended up with Eliza's cold as well.
This whole situation led me to a point that I have heard at church, and the whole reason I'm typing this blog post. We as Christians are called to pour into people, to love them, and to share the Gospel (aka the good news of Jesus) to them. We can't do this though unless we've been filled ourselves. This is also the same thing we have to do just as an everyday thing whether you're a Christian or not. You have to fill yourself up so that you can live and not just be walking around like a zombie 24/7. As a Christian though, I feel as though it's even more important. We have to show people the love of Christ, and it's really hard to do that if we are struggling ourselves.
An important thing as Christians is to let God fill our cup. If we don't let God fill our cup, then we are expecting others to fill our cup for us. This is not a job that others can do, other people won't completely do the job, and our cup won't be filled. We may be able to get by for a little while with a half empty cup, but eventually it will catch up with us. We won't be able to love people as much and they won't be able to see Christ through us.
I wanted to tell you guys some of my favorite ways to make sure I am filled up so that I can pour into other people.
