2021 Advent Day 4

Hey friends, yet again it is Monday December 6th at 5:30am.. If you aren't aware why I am 2 days late, then make sure you read 2021 Advent Day 3..

Let me be real honest about Day 4... We didn't even open up the calendar envelope until the 5th.. Matt and I both remembered what it was, and it was a parade in Kennesaw that started at 2pm. Eliza was still asleep by 2pm, and there was no way we could take her knowing how sick she was.. So we just skipped it.. We did end up watching Frozen that night, so that was our "Christmas event" that we did for the day.. The whole day was kind of fun, but also really rough. Matt had to pick up some medicine for her, and some ingredients for us from the store. Eliza was either screaming, nursing, or watching Cocomelon for most of the day... While Matt was at the apartment we were able to play some games together and just have some fun together... when Eliza wasn't screaming at us.. Thankfully, she is doing much better today though, we are still praying for complete healing.

Today's Bible advent plan was a devotional, Micah 5:2, 1 Corinthians 1:27, and 2 Corinthians 12:9.

Today's picture quote was "Where Jesus' journey began did not determine what he could accomplish for the kingdom." Then the devotional starts with how Bethlehem (where Jesus was born) was a small town, and very insignificant compared to the cities around it. Bethlehem was actually referred to as "the runt of the litter". That's the thing though, God has never been interested in the world's definition of greatness. He isn't interested in the wealth, fame, or popularity that we have on earth, and honestly, why should he be? He didn't care that He wasn't born in a castle. What God can do in your life is not determined by your earthly status! ( I don't know about you, but I am PUMPED about that, my earthly status isn't that great, so I am real glad that God doesn't care about our earthly status!)

Jesus' journey began at Bethlehem, but it did not determine what He could and did accomplish for the Kingdom of God! That's the exact same for us, it doesn't matter where we begin on our walk with Christ, we can still accomplish great things for the Kingdom of God!

This all really excites me! John 14:12 tells us “Truly I tell you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do. And he will do even greater works than these, because I am going to the Father." Which DANG that verse has always spoken to me! Think about it, Jesus HEALED people! He WALKED on WATER!! We can do these things that He has done and MORE!!! Also, it doesn't matter what you've done in life, you can still do amazing things for the Kingdom of God!

"Father, thank You for not allowing the lowest points of my life to limit my potential. Thank You for giving divine purpose to someone as imperfect as me. I praise You for Your amazing power that carries me in moments of weakness. I know that no matter where I started, You will take me where You want me to go. Thank You, Jesus, for showing me that incredible things begin in humble places." - Prayer

"Bethlehem Ephrathah, you are small among the clans of Judah; One will come from you to be ruler over Israel for Me. His organ is from antiquity, from eternity." - Micah 5:2

"Instead, God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong." - 1 Corinthians 1:27

"But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weakness, so that Christ's power may reside in me." - 2 Corinthians 12:9
